As of 10th Feb 2011, the market has been flooded with fake acekard 2i with EON chips. Surprisingly, the fake Acekard 2i has been proven to be quite sturdy. The only shortfall of the Acekard 2i copy is that it does not support firmware update or flashing. Hence, it will stay at the firmware 1.4.1 fix. Information of the fake Acekard 2i :

- AKAIO 1.8.5 and 1.8.5a works. But the bypass does not work (in any MicroSD)
- Chip EON brand (the original SST).
- ID:0fc2 HW: 44 SVN: 1034
- Firmware update does not work.

 

GBATemp user samurayjp, who claims to be a Brazilian Acekard reseller, has posted information about a newly discovered fake AK2i clone. The reseller has not included any information in regards to the packaging, however, Acekard.com has also reported information on this clone.

Real acekard uses SST chip but never used EON chip. That fake acekard which used EON chip CAN NOT use official update firmware. Please beware of this fake acekard.

According to the information the fake AK2i is using an "EON" chip which reports a legitimate HWID of 44. The card reportedly works with AKAIO v1.8.5, but the AP bypass option and DSi flashable firmware update do not function.
